Our Story

2010 – 2012

How it all began...

The journey began in 2010 with Justin & Matt and their first van Oscar and plenty of ambition. In that first year alone, the team completed 278 moves and travelled an impressive 33,600 miles. By 2011, JamVans was already expanding beyond the UK, completing jobs across Europe, including Bulgaria as the first European destination and with around 40% of work coming from repeat customers. That early loyalty showed customers trusted the team from the very start.

In 2012, things really gathered pace as revenue doubled, the first premises and office opened, and internal training materials fondly known as the “Jam Bible” were introduced to keep standards high as the team grew.

With strong foundations in place, the business continued to build momentum over the next two years. The team grew steadily, new bespoke vehicles were added to the fleet and staff were rewarded with company day-outs to recognise their hard work and commitment.

In 2014, JamVans gained wider recognition as one of London’s fastest-growing removal companies and even appeared on BBC News after helping local residents affected by a sinkhole, a moment that highlighted both the company’s growth and its willingness to step in when needed.

By 2016, JamVans was firmly in scale-up mode, completing dramatically more moves than in its early years. In 2016, JamVans rebranded, expanded its range of services, and joined respected industry bodies such as the British Association of Removers and Which? Trusted Traders.

The team took part in a DIY SOS Big Build project at Great Ormond Street Hospital, a cause close to the team’s hearts.

That year also brought external recognition, with the founders receiving a Young Entrepreneur of the year award, a milestone that reflected how far the business had come. JamVans supported the local community by donating boxes and helping coordinate donation efforts following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The company gained wider recognition, featuring in the Parliamentary Review for best practice in transport and winning Which? Trusted Trader of the Month. Sustainability also became a growing focus, with the introduction of an electric car for surveys and the support of a Low Carbon Workspace Grant.

JamVans director Justin ran the London marathon supported by the company raising over £7000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, JamVans adapted quickly by launching the “Self Store to Your Door” contactless storage service, which was later featured on Sky TV. Justin & Matt were invited back to their school, Longdean school to present the annual awards evening.

2021 – 2024

Launch of pioneering service, Covid-19 response and brand new warehouse.

Now more than a decade into its journey, JamVans had come a long way from its early beginnings. One of the most challenging periods for the business came during the Covid-19 pandemic, which pushed the team to adapt quickly and think differently. This led to the launch of We Collect, We Store, We Return, a self-storage service that comes directly to the customer. At the time, it was a pioneering solution, making essential moves and one-person collections possible during lockdown.

During this period, JamVans also took part in a major government pilot scheme for workplace Covid testing and was featured multiple times in the national press. Building on this success, JamVans went on to secure its first 20,000 sq ft warehouse, a huge milestone that marked the next stage of growth for the business.

2025 – Today

Electric vans, new brand – same culture, quality and mindset…

JamVans acquired a second 14,000 sq ft warehouse due to the number of storage clients rising rapidly. With this growth, it became clear that the offering needed to stand apart as a genuine alternative to traditional self-storage companies. This evolution led to the launch of JamStorage.

With a new brand and a new website, JamStorage was born and is built on the same high standards, ethics, and ethos that JamVans was founded on. True to JamVans’ market-leading approach, JamStorage became the first and only removals and storage company in the country to operate fully electric Luton box vans, setting a new benchmark for innovation and sustainability in the industry.
