How to Prepare Your Camping Gear for Storage
A little preparation before collection will keep your gear in great shape while it is with us. Here are a few simple things worth doing:
- Clean and dry everything before it is collected. Moisture trapped in fabric leads to mould and mildew, so pitch your tent and let it air dry after a trip before packing it away.
- Store sleeping bags loosely rather than compressed in their stuff sacks. This helps them retain their loft and warmth over time.
- Keep tent poles and pegs together with the tent so nothing goes missing between trips.
- Remove any gas canisters and batteries before storage. These cannot be stored with us for safety reasons.

Belated review, but I wanted to acknowledge the professional help I received from JamVans with moving out, storage, and delivery earlier this year. Special thanks to Micheal W and Louise. They were very professional from the start, made me feel well taken care of, and answered all the questions I had. On the moving day, only one lift was working in the building and they worked tirelessly to collect all the items from the 15th floor. They also helped with disassembling the standing desks which seems little but it saved me a lot of time. I hope to meet them again when I move out (again) later this month. A professional, friendly and incredibly well-organised team who made our move completely stress-free. We also used their storage service, which was brilliant, they collected everything from our door and delivered it all back when we needed it, so there was no hassle or need to organise access.
