Online inventory questions
How does the online inventory work?
When we collect your things, our crew photographs every item. Once they’re unloaded at our depot, the photos are added to your account in the JamStorage app, so you can log in and see everything you have in storage. When you want something back, you select it in the app and we deliver it.
How soon can I see my inventory?
Within an hour of your things being unloaded at our storage facility. We’ll email you as soon as it’s ready.
Who takes the photos?
Our crew does, on collection day. You don’t need to photograph or list anything yourself. Larger or more valuable items can have several photos from different angles.
What does the condition report show?
Any existing marks, scratches or damage we spot when we collect an item, backed up by the photos. It gives you and us a clear record of each item’s condition from the start.
Can I get just one item back?
Yes. Select one item, a handful or everything in the app, choose a morning, midday or afternoon slot and an address, and we’ll deliver it. Everything else stays safely in storage.
What happens to items once they’re delivered back?
The app updates to show they’re with you. If you only need them for a while, you can book a collection and they go back into storage, photos and all.
Where can you deliver my things?
Anywhere you like. Across the M25 and surrounding areas, deliveries within our standard service areas are at our standard prices. For anywhere else in the UK we’ll give you a bespoke quote, and overseas moves are handled with our sister company, international removals specialist Williams & Yates.
Can someone else help manage my storage?
Yes. You can add other people to your account, such as a partner, family member or colleague, so they can see your inventory and book deliveries too.
Can I change my payment details?
Yes, you can update your payment method in the app at any time.
Why is it cheaper than self storage?
Our facility is on the edge of London, where space costs much less than in the city, and we pass that saving on. You also pay only for the space your belongings fill, not a whole unit. On average we’re 50% cheaper than other self storage providers, from £10 a week.
Is there a minimum term, deposit or padlock?
The minimum term is four weeks, then it’s weekly for as long as you need. There’s no deposit, and no padlock to buy because you never visit a unit.
How are my belongings kept safe?
Furniture is blanket-wrapped in your home, and everything is sealed in wooden Jam Pods in a temperature-controlled facility with 24-hour CCTV. Protection cover is available if you’d like it.
