Parking and Collections in Clapton

Parking in Clapton depends on your street and the time of day. Hackney Council runs a controlled parking zone, Zone N, across Homerton and Lower Clapton. It’s in force Monday to Friday during the working day, from early morning through to early evening. There’s no weekend restriction, and outside those weekday hours you won’t need a permit either, though the council still enforces yellow lines and disabled bays at all times. Hackney has consulted on extending the zone in places, so it’s worth checking the signs on your own street rather than going by what applied last year.

Lower Clapton Road, which is the A107, and Upper Clapton Road both carry a lot of through traffic. Many of the residential streets around Chatsworth Road and Millfields Road are narrow Victorian terraces with cars parked on both sides, and the estates around Casimir Road have their own access arrangements. We turn up in a smaller van rather than a removals lorry, so collection day tends to look more like a supermarket delivery than a house move, and most Clapton collections are straightforward. If there’s something we should know in advance, a permit-only bay outside, an estate gate or a loading restriction on the main road, just tell us when you book and we’ll plan around it.
