Parking and Collections in Notting Hill
Most of W11 sits within a Controlled Parking Zone, with restrictions running broadly Monday to Friday, roughly 8am to 6:30pm. Visitor parking is limited to meter and pay-and-display bays with time limits, and the loading bays on the main roads such as Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove and Notting Hill Gate are busy. Portobello Road has its own rhythm. On market days, Friday for antiques and Saturday for the general market, stopping a van on Portobello Road itself is not realistic, so quieter side streets like Ledbury Road, Elgin Crescent and Stanley Gardens tend to give the team more workable access.
None of this tends to hold a collection up. We arrive in a smaller van rather than a full-size lorry, which is far more manageable on W11’s residential streets, and collections from period conversions with narrow staircases and no lift are routine for the team. If your flat is on an upper floor, the stairwell is tight, or you are near a market-day street, let us know when you book so we can plan the collection around it.

Belated review, but I wanted to acknowledge the professional help I received from JamVans with moving out, storage, and delivery earlier this year. Special thanks to Micheal W and Louise. They were very professional from the start, made me feel well taken care of, and answered all the questions I had. On the moving day, only one lift was working in the building and they worked tirelessly to collect all the items from the 15th floor. They also helped with disassembling the standing desks which seems little but it saved me a lot of time. I hope to meet them again when I move out (again) later this month.
