Health and Safety Policy

The most important aim at JamStorage is to ensure that everyone goes home safely at the end of every day. To this end, we maintain the highest reasonable and practical standards of health and safety and are concerned with the welfare and well-being of all company employees or anyone else who may be affected by our working practices.

JamStorage recognises that a productive health and safety culture has positive benefits to the organisation and is committed to continually monitoring, and revising where necessary, the health and safety policy. It also recognises that health and safety is a business function and must, therefore, continually progress and adapt to change. Adequate planning, monitoring and review of the implementation of the health and safety policy will be carried out on a regular basis.

Aims and Objectives

Providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment

  • Adopt as a minimum the legally required standards, but exceed these where there is demonstrable benefit.
  • Ensure that all relevant statutes, regulations and codes of practice are complied with.
  • Promote a proactive approach to identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing appropriate preventative and protective measures.
  • Have a system for reporting and investigating accidents and near misses, with corrective action taken to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Establishing and enforcing safe methods of work

  • Constantly improve health and safety standards and performance.
  • Recruit and appoint personnel with the skills, abilities and competence to perform their role safely.
  • Ensure employees are only tasked with duties within their skills, knowledge and ability.

Employee involvement

  • Consult with employees on all matters affecting staff, the public, or anyone else who may be involved.
  • Provide the necessary information, instruction and training to all employees and others to ensure competence.
  • Maintain technical competence through training courses as appropriate.

Reporting Health & Safety Concerns

JamStorage is committed to ensuring that all employees feel empowered and supported to raise any health and safety concerns. To ensure issues are dealt with quickly and effectively, the following procedures apply:

  1. Immediate Concerns
    • If you identify an unsafe situation or hazard that poses an immediate risk, stop work if safe to do so and notify your line manager or supervisor straight away.
  2. Reporting Process
    • Complete a Health & Safety Concern Report Form (available from HR or the company intranet).
    • Submit the form to your line manager or directly to the Health & Safety Officer.
    • If preferred, employees may also raise concerns confidentially via HR.
  3. Investigation and Action
    • All reported concerns will be logged and investigated by the Health & Safety Officer.
    • Appropriate corrective or preventative actions will be agreed and communicated to staff.
  4. Follow-Up
    • Feedback on the outcome of the concern will be provided to the employee who reported it.
    • Where necessary, further training or policy updates will be implemented.

JamStorage encourages all employees to speak up about health and safety issues without fear of reprisal. Reporting concerns helps us maintain a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
