Do You Actually Need a Sofa Cover?
A sofa spends more of a move uncovered than most people expect. It gets wrapped properly at one end, then unwrapped halfway through so someone can get the cushions round a door frame or down a stairwell, and it usually stays that way for the rest of the job. That’s the point where a pale sofa picks up a mark from a garage wall or a bit of dirt on the path to the van.
A cover won’t take every risk out of moving day, but it deals with the obvious ones. Dust, soil off a van floor, and water if the weather turns. It’s a few pounds against something you’ll want looking exactly the same when it comes back out.

This cover measures 3 x 1.3 metres, sized to fit 2 and 3 seater sofas. Sofas vary a fair bit in depth and arm style, so it’s worth a quick measure of your own before you order. If you’ve got an armchair or something larger, you’ll want a cover sized for that instead. This one won’t stretch to fit.
Keeping It Secured
Once the cover’s on, secure it around the base of the sofa rather than draping it over the top. It’s far less likely to slip or snag on a door frame that way, and it stays where you put it for the whole move instead of coming loose on the stairs.
