The houses in Catford are big. The homes inside them often aren’t. The streets are lined with bay-fronted Victorian terraces, including the roughly 3,000 houses Archibald Cameron Corbett built across south Catford from the late 1890s, and several of those streets sit in a conservation area now. Plenty of those houses were split into flats and maisonettes decades ago. 

Rightmove’s Land Registry figures put the average SE6 property at £502,296 over the year to 30 April 2026. Break that down and flats sold for an average of £334,054, while terraced houses averaged £604,403. A lot of people here live in a one or two bedroom slice of a house built for a whole family, and the loft, the cellar and the garden shed belong to somebody else.

That gap is what drives most of the storage we do here. People buying a terrace and clearing two rooms before the builders start. Families on the Corbett streets who ran out of loft years ago. Renters moving between flats around Rushey Green and Catford Hill when the dates don’t quite line up. The post-war and mid-century estate blocks across SE6 come at it from the other direction, with decent-sized rooms and almost no built-in storage. We’re also called in after a bereavement, during a separation, or when a flat has flooded and the repairs are underway. None of that gets planned weeks in advance, and we try to make it one less thing to sort out.
