No. Boxing up smaller belongings before we arrive helps, but nothing needs to be perfect. We bring the van, do the loading, and carry everything out for you. Furniture and larger items you can leave to us entirely. If you’re not sure where to start, just ask when you book.

Yes. You don’t need the whole lot back to get at one box or one piece of furniture. We complete an inventory when we collect, so you can request that box back, or that chest of drawers, or that mattress, and we’ll deliver it to your door in Peckham. What comes back is whatever we collected, so we don’t open boxes up to pull a single item out of them. Packing into several smaller labelled boxes instead of a few big ones gives you more control over what comes home.

JamStorage is designed for customers who need storage for at least a few weeks. If you’re only after something very short-term, we might not be the right fit, but we’re always happy to talk it through. Give us a call and we’ll work out what suits you.

Yes. When you want your belongings back, we can return them to a different address from the one we collected from. That suits people who’ve moved in the meantime, or who are storing while a sale goes through. Just give us the new address when you arrange the return.

Pack into sturdy, uniform boxes wherever you can. Boxes of the same size stack neatly and take the weight of the ones above them, so you can build upwards and use the full height of your space rather than just the floor. Bags and holdalls do the opposite. They slump, lose their shape under anything heavy and won’t stack safely, so you end up with gaps and wasted room. Good boxes also keep what’s inside protected and easier to get to later. It’s worth using several smaller, labelled boxes rather than a few big ones, because when you ask for something back you’ll get the whole box. If you’d rather not pack yourself, we can bring materials on collection day and help you get sorted, and you only pay for what we use.

Yes. Flats are the normal collection in E8, whether that’s a newer block around Dalston Square or a couple of rooms carved out of a terrace off Ridley Road. Our team knows communal front doors, entry codes and tight staircases with no lift. It helps to know in advance, so when you book, tell us which floor you’re on, how the entrance works, and whether anything bulky such as a wardrobe or a sofa needs to come down. The carrying is our job, not yours.

Usually sooner than people expect. Dalston sits well inside our regular London collection area, so we’re not making a special trip for it. When you get an instant quote you can choose a collection date that suits you, and if you’re working around a tenancy ending or a completion date, tell us and we’ll do our best to fit around it. We’d rather agree a date we can hold than promise one we can’t.
