Acton packs a lot of housing into a small area, and much of it is short on space. It’s one of the largest regeneration projects in West London, and demolition is still working through its later phases. The average flat in W3 sells for around £440,000 to £460,000 according to Rightmove and Zoopla, so paying for off-site storage of seasonal or overflow items usually makes more sense than moving somewhere bigger.

Acton draws a broad mix of people, and a lot of them rent. Young professionals priced out of Chiswick settle here for the transport links, families are well established across West Acton and Poets Corner, and there’s a long-standing international community, including the Japanese families around the Japanese School who often move on rotating corporate tenancies.
