Ruislip grew up as classic Metro-land. A railway station opened at Ruislip Manor in 1912, and the fields behind it went up for housing in the 1930s. The best known builder was George Ball, who bought 186 acres of King’s College land south of the line and put up his Manor Homes estate between 1933 and 1939. What’s left is street after street of compact semi-detached houses with gardens, garages and driveways. They’re lovely to live in, although the garage rarely stays a garage for long. According to Rightmove, the average home in HA4 sold for £559,176 over the past year, rising to £650,227 for a semi-detached. At those prices, buying an extra room costs a great deal more than storing the things you don’t need every week.

Parking and Collections in Ruislip
Ruislip is more forgiving than most of London on collection day. The 1930s estate roads were laid out with driveways and garages, so on most jobs we can pull onto your own drive and load straight from the front door.
Controlled parking does exist. Hillingdon calls these parking management schemes, and they’re concentrated around the stations, the village centre and the streets near Ruislip Lido, where some zones run on summer and bank holiday weekends. West End Road and Victoria Road are busier through-roads, so on those we’ll plan where to pull in.

JamVans service has been excellent, from the first inquiry to delivering our contents from London to Belgium. Although the wait to deliver was a little longer than expected, this was not a problem.
