Twenty Pens, So There’s Always One to Hand

Packing eats marker pens. One goes missing under a pile of newspaper, one runs out halfway through the kitchen, and nobody can find a working pen when the tape’s already on the last box. A pack of 20 means there’s one within reach whoever’s doing the packing and whichever room you’re in.

The ink is quick drying, so you’re not standing over a wet label waiting before you can stack the next box on top. It’s water resistant too. Boxes sit on doorsteps, ride in the back of a van, and end up in whichever room has become the sort it later pile, so a bit of damp is fairly normal. Water resistant ink means what you wrote still reads properly afterwards.

Why “Kitchen” Isn’t Much of a Label

A box labelled just “Kitchen” tends to hold kitchen things, a couple of bathroom bits and, somehow, a lamp. Writing the room is a start, but the second line does the real work. Note what’s actually inside, or mark the boxes you’ll want to open first. It takes a few seconds and saves you opening six identical boxes looking for the kettle.

Why does the pack come with 20 pens?

Will the ink smudge or run?

It’s quick drying, so it won’t smear as soon as you write it, and water resistant, so a bit of damp on a box won’t turn your labelling into a guessing game.
